This is a very sad surpise.  Joyce seemed to be having more fun that anyone at the reunion.   She seemed so happy and full of life.  Was this a surprise to others?

Wow!  I'm certainly surprised!  I wouldn't say that Joyce and I were close friends, but we were glad to have reconnected through this website, and had lunch a few days after the reunion, before she went back to Sioux Falls.  She fave no indication of any particular problem.  Still, there are so many ways to be taken suddenly.  Does anyone else know any more?

I WAS SAD TO HEAR ABOUT JOYCE.  WE HAD A WONDERFUL CONVERSATION AT THE MIXER AND THEN OUT ON THE DECK AT THE DINNER DANCE.  HOW WONDERFUL THAT SHE CAME AND ENJOYED. PRAYERS GO OUT TO HER FAMILY DURING THIS QUIET TIME.

KEEPING IN TOUCH IS SO IMPORTANT FOR ALL OF US.  I AM SO GLAD THAT WE HAVE THE WEBSITE TO CONNECT.

Joyce and I have known each other and been friends since we were beteen 7 to 10.  Our mother's were leader and co-leader of our Brownie and Girl Scout troop.  In high school we were in Tri-hi-Y together.  In recent year's whenever she was in town she would arrange a lunch with Joyce Tyler and both of us, and we took our mother's out to dinner together.  She was so good at getting together with people.  In August we we attended all of the  HHS reunion events together.  We had a wonderful time.  While she was here her family scattered her mother's ashes, then had a barbecue and invited me to attend.  I will miss her emails and getting together.

She has two sister's who live in Abq. I have been in touch with her youngest sister, Jane.  She wanted everyone to know that Joyce passed in her sleep, and went peacefully. She had not been ill.  It was probably a heart attack.  Jane told me today that her service was beautiful and that she had so many good friends there who loved her, as she does here.  She was a beautiful, loving, fun person.  She and Leanne Davis remained close, and she missed Leanne so much after her death, they now have been joined back together.

Thanks, Diane, that was a wonderful tribute to an old friend.  I did not know Joyce well, but feel like I know her better now.

My wife Maggie took the following photos of Joyce at the reunion balloon event on Saturday morning. The first photo shows Joyce on the right (horizontal stripes) with Marie Gore. The second shows her and me talking on the left side of the balloon basket. --Craig Green
