Larry Koletar

Fellow classmates, thanks to walter Huebner I regretfully need to inform you of the passing of Larry Koletar.

KOLETAR, LARRY age 68, passed away suddenly on September 21, 2013. Born in Portsmouth, Ohio, he graduated from Highland High School in Albuquerque and briefly attended college in Ohio. Larry began his career with Amtrak at the Albuquerque, NM passenger station on December 10, 1976 and completed his years of service upon his retirement there on February 11, 2009. During his career, he also worked at stations throughout New Mexico and Arizona as well as El Paso, TX and La Junta, CO. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Helen Koletar. He is survived by his sister Karen Koletar and her companion Jim Seib of Missouri. He also leaves behind a circle of loyal friends, including his bookstore friends and special lady friend Donna Gregory. He was a voracious reader with eclectic tastes. He loved used bookstores, movies and sports, particularly the Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Cremation has taken place and, since his ashes can't be buried under the pitcher's mound at Great American Ballpark, they will instead be scattered over the Ohio River. "It's good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies." Jack Kerouac - On the Road
