The Gaedes lived a block away from me & my brother and we all messed with cars , the Gaede family had a wrecking yard so it was natural place for cool parts and stuff.  in other words we all spoke the same language.

I was talking to Alan Olsen (OTJ) the other day and I mentioned Garry , It is with sadness that I report--Alan told me that that Garry passed away from some kind of internal infection in Albuquerque in 1989. He had some oral problems and even had open heart surgery. I left Abq in 82, but Alan remained close to the entire Gaede family all these years. We sure had a lot of wrenching all those years.

My he  Rest in Peace.

I wish I had known you guys better. My Dad had two wrecking yards (Menaul and North Edith), where I worked since age 12. Worked on cars for years before going to college. Did some drag racing with my '51 Chevy with a Corvette V-8 engine, but only at night on that old road from Central south to Speedway Park. Remember a guy named Rodney who used to race a '59 El Camino with a 348?

I also built a hot rod with a '23 Dodge body on Model A Ford frame and Oldsmobile V-8 engine. Sadly, I didn't have it street ready in High School, so sold it before I ever got to drive it. Met the guy who ended up with it while I was at UNM and finally got to see it run and ride in it.

Cars kept me out of trouble as a teenager.

Sorry to hear about Gary...
