Since Robyn Cholerton has moved to a residential care facility, anyone who wants an update or wants to visit can call or text me at 505-306-7466. I will talk to her primary scheduler/friend and confirm with you. There is no phone in her room.

What a robust group we were, celebrating May birthdays at BJ's Brewery! From my observations, there were no awkward pauses in the conversations and laughter! Those we don't often see were Merl and Kati Schafer (who scheduled their trip to be here with us!), Jim Bob Payne, and Don Rood!  Those now considered regulars were Andy Paquet, Neal Kloepfer, Steve Brooks, Sandy Stewart Smallwood, George and Tooey Boyden, Jerry Goffe, John Criswell, Betty Myers Schaeffer, Susan Myers Puckett, Connie Pecha Welty, Bonnie Kruger Kelly, Sue Suknot, Helen Stambaugh Williams, Susie Strong Neuschwanger, Rhonda Beauchamp Blech, Sandy Bryan (Robyn's friend and frequent attendee) and Marty Glantz Farmer.  Gail Stark, we hope there will be nothing stopping you next month!

Almost everyone enjoyed their lunches, but we want to find a new place to party!  If you know such a place, see if they can accommodate 25 people, and let me know!  The new La Salita location is a possibility for next month. And past conversations included taking food from El Modelo to a park on one of our summer month outings.  Sounds like an intriguing change!  The June date will be Monday, the 24th. Until then, enjoy the rest of the merry, merry month of May!

Time to plan for the next lunch on Monday, June 24th.  We will meet at 1:00 at Copper Canyon Restaurant.  Their separate room is now reserved for us! The address is 5455 Gibson SE, across from the old Lovelace hospital.  This is a first for us to eat in the SE heights.  If you grew up there,  you can go down memory lane!  I will call with final numbers on the 24th, so rsvp here.

I'll come. Thank you for taking this on Marty. Does anyone have Robyn's fudge recipe? It would be a nice way to remember her.

Walter Huebner

Can't attend lunch on 24 June because of out-of-town company.  Have looked online for a recipe that might match Robyn's chili fudge, but couldn't find anything close to it.  Maybe others will have more success.

Robyn's friend Sandy has sent details for a celebration of Robyn's life for anyone interested:  Saturday,  July 13, 3:00, at the First Unitarian Church which I believe is on Carlisle at Comanche.

For those of you waiting with bated breath, here’s the scoop on our latest luncheon.  Twenty-one of us crowded into the entry way at the Copper Canyon restaurant and were soon given a room of our own, making it easy to move about for conversation.  George Boyden made a fashion statement by sporting a cast and crutches.  If you want details (and you do), go to his profile and private message him.  But he is patiently (3 weeks) on the mend, happily for Tooey as well.  Gloria Ruiz Santana was our newby of the day!  How fun to see her again!

Other attending members of the lunch bunch were Mike and Ruth Wartell, Neal Kloepfer, Steve Brooks, Rhonda Beauchamp Blech, Sandy Stewart Smallwood, Helen Stambaugh Williams, Gail Stark, Bonnie Krueger Kelly, Jerry Goffe, Andy Paquet, Susie Strong Neuschwanger, Mary Simanek Villarreal, Betty Myers Schaefer, Susan Myers Puckett, and Robyn’s dear friends, Sandy Bryan and Toddy Tackett, who have become adopted classmates.

Betty regaled us with some 60’s UNM memories with Judy Jones Newton at our end of the table, and a suggested stargazing party at Ft. Union was expanded upon by Jerry who has telescope experience.  People are traveling in the next few months so I look forward to hearing those highlights.

I  decided to set a rather permanent date for our gatherings so people can plan ahead.  I did tell some folks to set it for the last Monday of the month, BUT ON SECOND THOUGHT, there are several holiday considerations.  SO, I will be setting up the THIRD MONDAYS of the month as HHS LUNCH DAYS, 1:00.  Mark your calendars now.  If you will be celebrating your birthday that month, contact me.  You have an opportunity to choose the restaurant. Happy Birthday!

And this second announcement:  Neal is wanting to get started on our 75th Birthday Bash (my words) Sept. 2020.  If you have ideas or interest, this is your invitation to talk to him!   At least start thinking about coming! You will put a smile on his face!
