Well, ladies and gents, we are one week away from our October birthday lunch at the Canteen Brewhouse—Monday, Oct. 14.  We have a good number coming, but have room for many more!  If you haven’t joined us yet, give us a try this month.  We are far more interesting now that we have grown up!  RSVP here or to me privately.  Final count goes in Monday AM.

LUNCH:  This coming Monday's lunch is planned for the patio.  If it's too cold, we will be inside.  But be advised that layers will be a good option.  I'm hoping for Indian summer temps!  The patio is large so we still have room for more classmates and friends!

October Luncheon Review:  Splendid weather, outside dining, and our largest group thus far combined for an exuberant gathering at the Canteen Brewhouse!  I will give you the "guest list" here In random order.  Then, if you go to my profile, a group picture from the day is posted there so you can try your identification skills. (I need a lesson on posting one here.)  We had some out-of-towners--Linda Gaines Fisher and her sister Marsha Gaines were in from Texas.  Marsha is not in the picture. Gloria Ruiz Santana and her daughter Jolene, Sue Suknot, Sandy Bryan also are not shown, but we enjoyed their presence at lunch. In the photo are Steve Brooks, Helen Stambaugh Williams, Susan Thompson, Connie Welty, Rhonda Beauchamp Blech, Jerry Goffe, Marty Glantz Farmer, Mike Wartell, Sandy Stewart Smallwood, Joe Jameson, Ruth Wartell, John Criswell, Lynn Brosman Romero, Andy Paquet, Neal Kloepfer, Betty Myers Schaefer, and Linda Gaines Fisher.   Our next venue is undecided.  If you are a November celebrant, you can let me know of a favorite restaurant...

I have been asked to post two announcements.

1). John Criswell reminded me that the train to Santa Fe is still free for seniors on Wednesdays through this year.  So, we are proposing to meet on Wednesday, November 6, at Tomasita's  Restaurant about 11:15, when the train arrives.  nmrailrunner.com is the website to find departure times from various stations. The train leaves from downtown ABQ at 9:35.  RSVP here if you will be going.  Maybe some of our Santa Feans will join us!

2)  Steve Brooks organized a "liver and onions" party at the Rt. 66 Diner to complete an idea Robyn had imparted some time back. Who would guess that so many would come with that menu in mind!  That Robyn!  Attendees were Steve, Jerry Goffe, Robyn's friend T'brine, George Boyden, Mike and Ruthie Wartell, Susie Strong Neuschwanger, Gloria and Joe Santana, Sandy Stewart Smallwood, Neal Kloepfer, and Marty Farmer.  We all had a good time AGAIN, (but I did notice Joe's meal looked suspiciously like a hamburger!)
