Carr, Jr., Thomas Lyle "Tom"
April 3, 1945 - January 21, 2021

Thomas L. Carr passed away on January 21. Tom was born in Iowa City, IA on April 3, 1945, and grew up in Albuquerque, NM. Denver has been his home since 1969. Tom was an architect in Denver and a member of the Denver Cherry Creek Rotary Club. In his spare time, Tom was an avid skier known for his keen sense of humor, and if you looked closely, a twinkle in his eye.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas L Carr MD and Mary F Carr, his brother Robert Patrick Carr and his niece Heather Carr West.
Tom is survived by his brother Terry L. Carr, and sisters DeeAnne Carr Nyweide, Catherine Carr West, Jane Carr Jones, and MaryEllen Carr. He is also survived by his step children, Leanna and Charlie Berger.

It's awful to see this news. Tom and I were best friends, lived close to one another, played all the time from grade school up. His family was like a second family. He was solid, funny, loyal. He was brave after the untimely early death of his brother. We got into a fair amount of trouble together Spanish (Wilson Jr High), and Physics (Highland), and always had fun. This hits hard.

I think I may have met Tom in Denver, when I did some architectural drafting in his office for 3 weeks. I was not yet licensed as an architect, so it is very possible that I didn't. What I don't think I knew at the time was that he was in our HHS class! I am very sorry to hear of his passing.
