I remember Bill with great fondness.
We knew each other at Highland, but were closer at UNM, where we were in many classes together as Mechanical Engineering students.
Once, in college, Bill in his '48 Ford and I in my Chevy, were parked at a place where we raced slot cars on Central Avenue, I think at Nob Hill. When Bill came out to get in his car, I said something derogatory about Fords, in a friendly but joking way. My car took a few turns before starting, and his older Ford cranked right up. He said, "Yep, it's a Ford."
He was a great guy - easy going... I never remember a cross word with him.
He will be missed.
