We hope you'll be joining us for the March birthday lunch, at 1 PM on Monday, March 26, at the Range Cafe at 2200 Menaul Blvd. NE!  I know that we'll be celebrating Steve Brooks' birthday, since he's chosen the date and the place, and has made the arrangements.  I see, though, that there are others with March birthdays, who are local.  

If you plan to be there, please let us know -- it's very helpful to the restaurant, so that we can all sit together!

Hello All,

It was good to see so many people at lunch today.  

Several of you offered your help for the reunion, and I want to thank you for that.  Currently, our main goal is to get people to respond if they are coming or not.  So, if you talk to friends regularly or occasionally, ask if they are coming, and if they are to let me know at haswms@gmail.com.  Or, call me directly at 310-961-6089.  If I don't recognize your number, please leave a message.  

I will send out 2 more reminders before the reunion.  As often happens "last minute"  before the reunion weekend, things will come up, and I will put a call for help then.  Again, thanks for all your offers, but I think it's covered for now.

I'm not under the illusion that anyone is holding their breath for the report of the monthly birthday lunch, but I do apologize for the delay in reporting on the March lunch.  There is a reason, but it's not all that interesting.  

So we did meet at the Range Cafe on Menaul, to celebrate the birthdays of (you may notice a theme, here) of Steve Brooks, Susan Thompson, Susan Myers Puckett, and Sandy Stewart Smallwood.  Also enjoying the food, the company, and the occasion were Helen Stambaugh Williams, Marcy McVay Cates, Mary Ann Simanek Villarreal, Mike and Ruth Wartell and granddaughter Sophia (always a treat!), Walt Huebner, Marty Glantz Farmer, Neal Kloepfer, Betty Myers Schaefer, Lorraine Barth and Ricardo, Jerry Goffe, Susie Strong Neuschwanger, and John Criswell, plus my friends Sandy Bryan, and Hank (LCHS '63) and Anna Nusbaum.  I'm not sure that everyone had a chance to see it, but Hank brought along a 1963 map of Albuquerque -- interesting to see where the city limits were at the time, as well as what streets have come and gone.  And I brought some chocolate chip cookies I had made, which seemed to vanish.  

And now, on to the April birthday lunch!  It will be on Monday, April 23rd, at 1 PM at Papa Felipe's, 9800 Menaul NE (Menaul and Eubank NE) -- as decided and devised by Marty Glantz Farmer and Marcy McVay Cates.  Reminder to come, before too long.  Looking forward!

Sorry, I will miss the April luncheon. On Sunday, April 22, I will be having lunch with Doug Turnage, Adele Parker, Karen White and maybe Gordon Paul (Spike) and Karen Hayes in the Phoenix area. If I remember, I'll get them help you all celebrate.
