I'll be there for lunch on the 18th. Neil, thanks for getting this site to work with comcast. Communication is nice and now Robyn doesn't have to forward everything.

Anyone who eats at California Pizza Kitchen at ABQ Uptown either today or Tuesday can have 20% of your bill donated to the Highland band. You have to request that it be donated and for some places who do this you have to mention it when you arrive.

Hi everyone,

I received this message from Jeff Diefendorf a while back. He wanted me to post it for you all to see so here goes. Please respond to him as you wish.

Because of my mental dementia problems, it is really unlikely that I could travel from Maine to Albuquerque for a new reunion event.  My brain now is seldom recognizing people and remembering names, even if the people are recent friends or colleagues, including those from the University of New Hampshire department of history where I taught for 40 years.  It is also hard for me to see old friends from Stanford, where I had go to college after leaving Albuquerque.

Since I was once elected to head the Highland High School Class (our Junior year), some have suggested that I return to a reunion event, but I cannot do that very easily now.

Personally I went to Bandelier Elementary with Jeff for six years. When we started at Woodrew Wilson, I would ride my bike to his house and then we would ride to Mike Mauneys. There Jim Hampson would meet us and we would all ride together. It seemed like a hundred miles but I think it was only one mile!

Robyn is “not up to snuff” at the moment, so I am extending the invitation:  Let’s celebrate April birthdays now that taxes are behind us...and maybe the wind!  We will meet at a new place—Dave’s Valley Grill at 6601 4th St. NW, where Osuna meets 4th.   We have reserved space for Monday, April 29 at 1:00.  Let us know if you can come.

I hope Robyn gets back up to snuff soon. Martha, thanks for filling in. I will try to be there on 4th street.

I would recommend another free ride for geezers on the Rail Runner anytime all year on Wednesdays. Perhaps a ride to Belen for lunch at Pete's. A short walk from the train station. Or a Santa Fe for lunch repeat. Just saying.

John, I like the idea of a train trip--- after May 13. There is a Harvey House Museum in Belen if anyone is interested in that kind of field trip then or another day.

Jack, this has been such a long row to hoe for you and Terri! Mayo often has great results. Hope that is the case for Terri!

Martha, Pete's is located right behind the Harvey House Museum. The museum is in the old Belen train station. They also host the Bugg light show at Christmas time.
